I had never seen cows on the beach before. I laughed at how strange it seemed and wondered if the sand got itchy between their hooves. But the cows took no notice of me nor the hubbub down by the water. Women sashayed along the seashore in colourful saris and men busied themselves mending nets and fishing. As I gloried in the cool ocean breeze I realized those cows were on to something… the ocean air was a welcome reprieve from the scorching afternoon sun.
