This blog post is an ode to both Beach No. 7 and my wide angle lens. Beach No. 7 is on the western coast of Havelock Island in the Andaman Islands. Time magazine named it “Best Beach in Asia” in 2004. It feels like you’re walking along the edge of the world with the endless expanse of sea on one side and the towering threshold of the jungle on the other. It’s beautiful.
I love my wide angle lenses. I love them because you can lay down three inches away from a tiny scrambling sand crab or stand up and capture an entire sunset. They take the kind of photos that when looking at them afterwards, on a cool spring evening in Meadowville, I feel like I can step inside them and be magically transported back there. If only.
