We had babies on the brain in Thailand. Well, we had A baby on the brain. As the end of January approached. Dave was preparing to be a first-time uncle. We logged online every chance we got. I would eagerly ask, Any news yet? And Dave would shake his head. I must have asked him a million times do you think it’s a boy or a girl? He never really had an answer.

I was so excited for Dave to finally be an uncle. I kept telling him it’s so different than other babies… you scoop them up and smell them and the love is… bigger somehow, because you know they’re yours. I know I love my niece and nephew to the moon and back and couldn’t wait for Dave to have the opportunity to feel the same.

Little Edie took her time arriving… a few days after her expected due date we got the e-mail. A healthy, beautiful BABY GIRL!

Needless to say, the first weekend we were home we made tracks to Moncton. Turns out I was right – Edie fills Dave’s heart right up. And how could she not? Look at her!
