You may remember Krista + Jason from their lovely winter wedding where they eloped in their living room. Since then they’ve added a wriggling, adorable addition to their happy family. Meet Chase – a small tail-wagging ball of energy that no doubt heaps even more chaos on this already busy family!
We met at the Dingle Park in Halifax and Krista had a mission – to get one shot of all three kids and the dog looking at the camera. And then the same thing, add parents. Yes, that’s 6 pairs of eyes (one of them canine!) looking at the camera and smiling. Well, if you’re a regular reader, you’ll know that looking-at-the-camera-and-smiling isn’t really my thing and besides, it can be hard to achieve with adults, let alone children. Add a dog to the mix? Yikes!
But with patience and a sense of humour, I’m happy to report that we achieved the near-impossible. It just goes to show how awesome these kids are – so sweet and well-behaved. We were all in it together and the teamwork paid off with some great family photos.
Once I was sure we had the family shots, we turned the kids loose and I spent 10 minutes with Krista and Jason, snapping a few portraits. The day of their wedding was so cold and we had to do all their portraits inside so I wanted to get a few of them being in love in the great outdoors. I’m so glad they indulged me… their love is easy and real and I think that really shines in their photos.
