I knocked on the door, admiring the Christmas wreath hanging on its cheery red ribbon. As I hear feet pitter patter inside, the moment before the door swings open is always a split second of nerves, a deep breath and a please let this go well. But when Amanda threw open the door and greeted me with her big smile and boundless energy, I knew everything was going to be a-okay.
Before I landed at Amanda and Adam’s house, we had talked about doing family photos but also a few quick product shots for Amanda’s business Twice Upon a Time. At first I thought it was called Twice Upon A Time because she had two kids: Elle and Gray. Turns out, it’s because she upcycles gently used children’s clothing and creates beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces such as onesies and dresses. Her garments are adorable and an earth-friendly choice too. With Christmas right around the corner, you should support local and check out her etsy shop here!
As you’ll soon see, Amanda has no lack of inspiration under her own roof. Her babies are gorgeous! And they’re both wearing Twice Upon a Time creations. Unfortunately Elle wasn’t feeling up for a full-on photo shoot so we got a lot more shots of Gray who was hamming it up for the camera. I loved how we went outside and took “family pictures” anyway without Elle. Amanda and Adam laughed it off and said it just means when she gets older, they can poke fun and remember this as the time Elle didn’t want to get her picture taken. Hilarious!
You’ll be seeing more of this sweet family in the New Year and hopefully 2012 will bring more camera-ready smiles from the whole family!
